Today Ubisoft showcased a deep dive into the gameplay of Assassin's Creed Nexus VR, the upcoming virtual reality game set in the Assassin's Creed universe.
We get to see pretty much every aspect of the game, which will place us in the Animus of three different and well-known Assassin's, Ezio Auditore, Connor, and Cassandra.
The video, narrated by creative director David Votypka and associate game director Olivier Palmieri, includes segment from all three assassins, across three completely different historical periods.
Interestingly, we get to see that traversal and locomotion are entirely unimpeded, including jumps in all directions and even the iconic Leap of Faith. There's none of the gimmicks that often impede immeriod in many virtual reality games.
You can actually turn these on if you need them, for instance by resorting to teleport motion instead of free running, but if your stomach and motion sense can take the full experience, it's there for you to enjoy, and it looks pretty crazy.
Anoter segment showcases stealth, which also appears to be implemented very immersively, with the ability to lean and look through gaps, throw objects to distract enemies, and even whistle.
Of course, combat plays a major part, and you can both execute your enemies with the hidden blade (two of them in Connor and Ezio's case), or engage in full-fledged melee, once again with a lot of freedom of movement at your disposal.
