This guide will tell you how to complete the Investigation in the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Crush Quest and explain what you get as a reward!
Once you've gotten past the first few Story Quests in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, you'll find that the Resistance HQ and Na'vi towns are loaded up with tons of potential side quests. The "Crush" Quest has a challenging investigation to solve, but you'll score a sweet piece of equipment later in the game if you follow through -- read on to learn how to solve this puzzle!
How to Unlock the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Crush Quest
You can unlock the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Crush Quest by speaking with Nawuk at Hometree, the home of the Aranahe Clan. You won't really have a reason to head out to this area until you meet a member of the Aranahe Clan, though.
Once you've reached the Resistance HQ, you'll talk with the other Na'vi and explore the area a bit. After a few conversations, you'll hear an explosion in the distance -- this starts the "Becoming" Quest.
"Becoming" requires you to travel a short distance away from the Resistance HQ and investigate an incident at an outlying Resistance camp. You'll have a decently tough fight when you get there. At a critical moment, a Na'vi named Etuwa will fly in on her Ikran (a flying mount) and save the day.
Meeting Etuwa will trigger the quest "The Aranahe Clan." This Quest requires you to go to Hometree, the Aranahe Clan home located west of the Resistance HQ on the Map. When you get there, you'll be able to meet Nawuk and begin the Crush Quest.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Crush Quest Walkthrough
Once you've completed the quest "Becoming," you'll travel to Hometree for the Quest "The Aranahe Clan." You'll be introduced to a few members of the Aranahe Clan. You can speak with them to pick up additional Quests.
One of these people is Nawuk, a Tanner for the Aranahe. She'll tell you that she saw a lone human on an island in the middle of the river. This human was seemingly under attack and left in a panic. This conversation will start the Crush Quest.
Heading to the Quest Location
Making your way to the island in the Threaded River. It's easiest to head there from Hometree; you simply have to head east across mostly flat land.
After you've made it to the island, use your Na'vi Senses to start looking for objects of interest in the Quest area.
How to Complete the Investigation
Completing the Investigation for the Crush Quest requires pairing up three sets of two clues. There doesn't appear to be any fixed order for doing things; you just need to match up the correction combinations.
Here are the combinations:
- Investigate the Snapped Branch and the Broken Wasp Hive
- Investigate the Footprints and the Cracked Tablet
- Investigate the Aircraft Skid Marks and the Box of Supplies
Completing all three pairs of clues will put the story together: someone from the Resistance landed on this island. Whatever they were doing, they somehow snapped a branch which caused the Wasp Hive to fall. This caused the person to flee and drop their tablet. They then took off with an aircraft.
Hacking the Cracked Tablet
Now that you have a theory, you can use SID to hack the Cracked Tablet and try to recover some information from it. You'll have to complete the standard Hacking minigame to get inside.
Unlocking the Cracked Tablet will reveal someone has been trying to compose romantic poetry and failing quite badly. You'll hear them get frustrated, kick a tree, and the wasp attack.
Returning to the Resistance Base
It's time to find out who the Cracked Tablet belongs to. Pick it up and return to the Resistance Base.
Your next stop will be to talk to Alexander Tremayne, the Resistance Biologist and the inventor of the SID device used for Hacking. Head upstairs in the Resistance Base to the Research Area.
Speak with Alexander Tremayne and he'll tell you that it's probably a woman who was talking on the Cracked Tablet. This narrows it down somewhat, but you'll still need to do some legwork.
Ask Around Resistance HQ About the Cracked Tablet's Owner
You can speak with three women about the Cracked Tablet. They are:
- Priya Chen
- Anqa Salaam
- Nalin Laine
Nalin Laine is the easiest to talk to first since she's right next to Alexander Tremayne in the Research Area. Head downstairs and you can find Priya Chen and Anqa Salaam on the first floor.
All three women deny knowing anything about the tablet, so you'll have to talk to them again. There are two important clues to take note of, though: Anqa Salaam is a pilot and she talked about a tablet when you only mentioned the vague idea of "tech" being left behind.
Confront Anqa and she'll reveal that she was the owner of the Cracked Tablet. She flew out to the island to try to record some romantic poetry, but it met with disaster. Things went so badly, in fact, that she's giving up on the notion of romance at all.
Finishing this somewhat sad conversation with Anqa will complete the Crush Quest.
A Match Made in Pandora - Crush Quest Part 2
After you've completed the Crush Quest, an opportunity to continue this storyline will present itself with the follow-up Quest "A Match Made in Pandora." This is also the chance to get a pretty powerful mod for your Armor.
Once you've completed the main Story Quests in the Upper Plains, the Resistance will establish a new base in the Clouded Forest, the third and final zone of the Map located to the West.
It takes some time for this base to get set up, but you'll eventually be able to get new side quests from the Resistance. One of these quests is provided to you by Anqa Salaam if you've completed the Crush Quest.
We won't get into specifics about the "A Match Made in Pandora" Quest as it's pretty straightforward -- you have to fix a small Resistance Field Lab, do a minor fetch quest, and fight off a few RDA Scorpion Helicopters.
Once you're done, you'll get a unique Armguard Mod called "Cupid's Watch:"
The Cupid's Watch Armguard Mod gives you 20% Bonus Health -- a substantial enhancement that will be useful for the third and final cat of the game.
