The Game Awards 2023 just ended, and the winners have been announced, including the much-coveted Game of the Year award and the Players' Voice Award, on top of the Most Anticipated Game of 2024 and many more.
The Game of the Year prize was taken by Baldur's Gate 3 which triumphed against extremely strong competition this year, including Alan Wake 2, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Voted exclusively by fans, the Players' Voice Award also went to Baldur's Gate 3, in a rare one-two punch for Larian Studios.
Moving on to 2024, the Most Anticipated Game award went to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which had to compete against Hades II, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Star Wars Outlaws, and Tekken 8.

The Game Awards happen every year, organized and presented by Geoff Keighley. if you're wondering, last year's winner was FromSoftware's Elden Ring.
Excluding the Players' Voice Award, which is entirely voted by fans, the rest of the awards at the show are mostly decided by a jury of media and influencers, whose votes determine 90% of each result, while 10% is determined by votes submitted by the audience.
