Fishing is a major part of most farming sim-type games, and Coral Island is no exception to that pattern. While there are not too many fish that are currently available in-game, the list is definitely hefty enough to become overwhelmed by, not to mention each fish can be donated to the Museum or sold for a profit. In this Coral Island fishing guide, we will give the rundown of how to fish, every fish we have currently discovered, what each one is worth when sold in the shipping container, and where each fish can be found.
How to Fish in Coral Island
First, you will need to acquire a basic fishing pole from Sunny's Beach Shack, which will be given to you for free along with a bug-catching net, once you complete the quest that asks you to go and check out the Beach Shack. Once you are armed with your pole, you will simply need to find any body of water in-game, which can even be the pond directly to the right of your Farmhouse. To cast your line, you will click the left mouse button once, and hold it down if you'd like to cast it further out into the water.
Once the line has been cast out, you will see a prompt at the bottom that states "Wait for a fish to hook the line", and you do just that. You will not see any fish swimming in the water from what we have seen thus far, but once a fish is heading your way it is hard to miss. The fish appears as a black shadow of a fish in the water and will swim to your bobber, tap it four times with its mouth, then bite. Once you have a bite, you will hold the left mouse button down to begin reeling it in. Be careful to watch the gauge above the reeling bar though, as the fish will break the line if the bar becomes red.
You will also notice that the fish splashes and flops about for a few seconds at a time. The best time to begin reeling is when the fish is calm and no longer splashing. It will cause your gauge above the reeling bar to go up quite slowly when the fish is calm, and quite quickly when they flop around and try to escape. Once you have filled the reel bar in completely, you have successfully caught the fish, and it will be auto-looted into your bag! Be careful not to click the right mouse button while you are reeling in a fish, or it will completely break the line, causing you to lose the bite.

Best Coral Island Fishing Skill to Take First
The best Coral Island Fishing Skill to take first is Strong Arms I. Choosing this skill first makes fishing less tedious when it comes to reeling the fish in. When they are fighting you and splashing about, you can reel little by little but it becomes a back-and-forth game for quite a bit of time. Plus, reeling takes a bit of energy, so this helps to minimize fighting with the fish as well as keep you from using up all of your energy on just a few fish.
