Core Keeper Molten Quarry Biome Guide - cover

This Core Keeper Molten Quarry Biome Guide will tell you about the loot, enemies, and hazards you can find within this sub-biome in the Desert.

Where is Molten Quarry Biome in Core Keeper?

The Desert of Beginnings Biome is a sub-biome located within The Desert of Beginnings in Core Keeper. That means that you won't be able to access this biome until you've powered up the Core by defeating GlurchGhorm, and the Hive Mother.

As the name implies, the Molten Quarry is loaded with lava. And also mining equipment for some reason. (I guess they were mining lava?) It has a distinctive mining theme and it's a good place to find Metal Bars -- as long as you can survive the elements.

Before you even consider heading here, it's a good idea to bring a fair number of bridges. You'll sustain damage from walking over the grates in this biome. That challenge is compounded by all of the enemies trying to kill you.

The Smelter appears to have been an area where ore was smelted into bars. The Chest in this area usually has some smelted metal bars of the higher tiers (Octarine, Scarlet, or Galaxite).

How to Upgrade the Ancient Pickaxe Into the Soul Seeker Pickaxe

Here's how to upgrade the Ancient Pickaxe into the Soul Seeker, one of the best Pickaxes in the game:

  1. Find and defeat Igneous the Molten Mass. Continue to fight this boss until you get the Cipher Parchment.
  2. Acquire the following:
    • An Ancient Pickaxe
    • 400 Gold Bar
    • 800 Scarlet Bar
    • 800 Octarine Bar
    • 800 Galaxite Bar
    • 100 Ancient Gemstone
  3. Find The Ancient Forge.
  4. Take the Cipher Parchment and all of the ingredients to The Ancient Forge.
  5. Make the Soul Seeker Pickaxe.

The Soul Seeker Pickaxe is a top-tier mining tool with some excellent stats. Interestingly, it has no durability whatsoever -- it will never break!

Here are the Soul Seeker's stats:

Soul Seeker

  • Legendary

  • 2.5 attacks per second
  • +607 mining damage
  • +9.3% mining speed
