Paradox has announced that Crusader Kings III sales have reached a major milestone.
According to the studio, the grand strategy game has sold 3 million copies across its lifetime. That figure counts base game sales, but doesn't count extras.
That means additional content like the recent Tours and Tournaments DLC, as well as cosmetics and other addon content, don't count towards the 3 million number.
In addition, since that figure points to sales and not player counts, we can assume that Crusader Kings III's Game Pass players aren't included here either.
However, the figure does include sales of Crusader Kings III across both PC, where it launched in September 2020, and current-gen consoles, where it was released in March last year.
If you're out of the loop on this one, Crusader Kings III is, believe it or not, the third installment in the Crusader Kings series of grand strategy games.
Developed by Paradox, the game casts you as the steward of a dynasty that begins either in 867 or 1066.
From there, you must lead your family through political intrigue, war, and natural disasters, shaping your legacy and dealing with both allies and enemies along the way.
As well as the base game, a number of expansions and DLC packs are available for Crusader Kings III, including the aforementioned Tours and Tournaments as well as Wards and Wardens, the first community-selected expansion for the game.
That's not all, either; Paradox says it has "so many more ideas" in store for Crusader Kings III, so it sounds like the game will be supported with new content for a while to come, just like Crusader Kings II was.
Crusader Kings III is available right now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You can also check the game out on Game Pass.
