How to Play Knucklebones in Cult of the Lamb
The Cult of the Lamb Knucklebones game may seem a little difficult to figure out, but it's surprisingly easy.
Players alternate turns rolling a six-sided die and placing it in one of three columns. Each die is worth the equivalent amount of points on its face; that is to say, a die with the number 5 on top is worth 5 points, a die with the number 3 on top is worth 3 points, and so on.
The real trick, however, comes down to the combos -- placing two of the same number in a column will significantly multiply your score.
Cult of the Lamb Knucklebones Combos
- 2 of a kind - N x 2
- e.g. two 4s in the same column will give you 8
- 3 of a kind - N x 9
- e.g. three 5s in the same column will give you 45
Combos are great for racking up your score, but there's one more important rule: placing a die removes all dice of the same number on your opponents board. It doesn't matter if you have three 6s in a column on your side -- if your opponent can place one 6 in their column on the opposite side, it will wipe out all of your dice in that column.
When Does a Game of Knucklebones End?
A game of Knucklebones ends when one player fills up their side of the board with dice. And yes, that means it's possible for someone to end the game by placing their last die and lose because they have a lower score than their opponent.

Best Way to Win Knucklebones in Cult of the Lamb
The best way to win Knucklebones in Cult of the Lamb is to build combos in columns where your opponent can't place any dice.
Refer to the above image. The opponent has filled up the column on the right and can't place any more dice there. As a result, I can safely place two 6s and start building a combo. If I get a third 6 in there, I'll get a massive 54 points off of that one column alone.
Always try to build combos in columns where your opponent can't counter your plays. That's the key to consistently winning the game. Don't forget, though, that there's always an element of randomness to these games -- sometimes, you'll just have bad luck no matter how you play.
