Cyberpunk 2077 is finally out, and with the world of Night City your oyster, the choices of what you wear and use for your netrunning jobs can be a bit daunting for the first few hours.
Thankfully though, it seems like CD Projekt Red knew this too, and happened to supply a little aid for players with a free iconic weapon right off the bat.
Dying Night Stats - Cyberpunk 2077
In the case of this iconic weapon, we have a Power Pistol named the Dying Night, and uncommon iconic weapon. The Dying Night grants V some extra headshot damage (5% chance) and a critical hit multiplier of 1.80. Along with the ability to ricochet bullets, this makes the Dying Night a pretty powerful gun in the early game if you can aim well for the perfect headshot.
Note that the Dying Night is affected by your pistol skill, which increases its DPS and damage as it levels up.
The full stats are as follows (on Hard Mode, based on a level 2 pistol skill):
- Type: Power Pistol
- Rarity: Iconic
- DPS: 65.3
- Damage: 10-12
- 5.56 Attacks Per Second
- Bullets can ricochet off surfaces
- +7-9 Physical Damage
- +5% Critical Chance
- +1.80 Headshot Damage Multiplier
Where to Find the Dying Night?
So the question is where do you find the Dying Night? Well luckily, it’s free to grab and tied to a small fetch quest, but minor spoilers for players going forward who want to be surprised in acquiring it.
You find the Dying Night on a short hidden side quest quest titled “The Gun," after you finish your Lifepath prologue and gain your new apartment in Night City, right after the beginning of Act 1. There, you need to track down the shopkeep Wilson, the owner of the Second Amendment Gun Store.
To find Wilson, you need to first leave your apartment and go to the main floor of your building. If you are coming from the bottom floor, you can also use the elevator and head to the floor marked “Services.” Wilson will be in front of the elevator.
The cost of the Dying Night will be the princely sum of zero, well worth it for what will be your first iconic weapon in the game, thus completing the quest, and getting a fairly powerful weapon early on in Cyberpunk 2077.
And there you have it! Hopefully this helps you out in getting a sweet little reward before you begin taking on the larger questlines in Cyberpunk 2077. Also be on the lookout for more iconic weapons; you never know what they can do or how they can help you in Cyberpunk 2077.
