Having trouble in Dogtown? Need a truly explosive shotgun to level the playing field? Then read our Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Addicted To Chaos guide below.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Addicted to Chaos – The Man Who Killed Jason Foreman
Once you complete the You Know My Name story mission in Phantom Liberty, you should get access to a new gig in the Longshore Stacks.
This gig is called The Man Who Killed Jason Foreman. On the surface it is a direct hit job. Find the cyberpsycho that massacred some people and put him down.
Once you're done investigating the crime scene, follow the mission marker to Rinder's hideout. After you've fought through Rinder's men enter his room.
From here, you have a bit of a dilemma. Rinder is bandaged up, beaten, and looking awful.
Addicted to Chaos Gig - Should you Kill Rinder or Let Rinder Live?
You can just shoot him and take his dogtags. But that would make you miss out on a good reward.
Instead, talk with Rinder. Exhaust dialogue options and learn more about him. You'll find out that life, life in Dogtown especially, gave him a raw deal.
Threaten his life and Rinder will offer you his dogtags, and the location of a supply cache. In exchange, you lie to your client that he is dead.
Accept Rinder's deal and you should get the location of the cache under a new side mission called Addicted To Chaos.
Of course, once you've gotten this information, there's nothing stopping you from killing Rinder afterwards. Do with that what you will.
Cyberpunk 2077 Addicted to Chaos Reward – The Dezerter Shotgun
Once you've made your deal with Rinder, head to the quest location and open up the cache. Inside is one of the most powerful shotguns in the game: The Dezerter.
This double-barreled beauty not only has 75% armor penetration and a 20% burn chance on enemies, it fires fifteen explosive rounds with each blast.
There are only two major downsides to those boomstick. First, the gun kicks like a mule and is very short-range, so line up your shots carefully.
Second, every time you take out an enemy, you will catch fire. The trade off is while on fire you'll gain a movement speed and Mitigation Chance boost.
Thankfully, if you're low on health you won't catch fire, so don't worry about turning yourself to ash.
Overall, the Dezerter shotgun is tailormade for those rocking high Body stat builds courtesy of the new 2.0 skill tree. Better still, the downsides can be handled with the right perks.
The fire damage can be offset by the perk tree's health regeneration. The Obliterate perk will almost guarantee your targets will get turned to paste, making up for the limited magazine.
Plus, since the effect is one kill, you're free to unload in boss battles.
Finally, if you spend some points in the Reflexes tree, you can amp up that Mitigation Chance higher to compliment your health regen. This means that somehow being on fire will make you harder to hit. Enjoy.
