CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.1 will land alongside the launch of the game's Ultimate Edition.
Announced earlier this month, the Ultimate Edition will launch across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and will include both the base game and its Phantom Liberty expansion.
Unlike the Ultimate Edition, Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.1 will be free for all players, so even if you don't pick up the new version of the game, you'll still be able to enjoy the new update's improvements.
As for what's actually coming as part of update 2.1, CD Projekt Red is remaining somewhat cagey about that for the time being.
In the X (formerly known as Twitter) post announcing the update, CD Projekt Red promises it will bring "new and hotly anticipated gameplay elements", and that it will be free for players.
If you want to learn more, though, you're going to have to wait for a livestream that's being held tomorrow at 4pm CET (that's 3pm GMT and around 10am Eastern).
Recently, CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty managed to sell 4.3 million copies, which studio execs called "a great result" in the company's financial results for the third quarter of 2023.
Work on Project Orion, the next game in the Cyberpunk universe, is already underway, as is work on Polaris, a brand new game in the universe of The Witcher.
That's a distinct project from the upcoming Witcher remake, which is being developed by Fool's Theory and overseen by CD Projekt Red.
We'll have to wait and see what CDPR has in store for Cyberpunk 2077 and its future. In the meantime, you can tune into the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.1 stream on the developer's official Twitch channel tomorrow at 4pm CET to find out what's coming up.
