Today CD Projekt RED detailed a new update coming to its popular RPG Cyberpunk 2077, and it's a sizable one with many new features and changes.

As announced yesterday, the update will be numbered 2.1 and will be released on December 5 with the Ultimate Edition for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

While we don't have the full patch notes, today we learned during a dedicated livestream, that there are quite a few new features coming with the patch, including the implementation of the fully working metro. At long last, the NCART (Night City Area Rapid Transit) will be available for use.

The update will bring five lines and 19 stations, which have been completely redesigned to be functional. You will still be able to use them as fast travel points, but now you can ride the metro along the lines, and there are even some surprises to find out as you ride.

If you get tired of riding along, you can skip to your destination at any time during a ride.

The next change is the addition of Radioport, an item that lets you listen to the radio while on foot. It has some limitations as it won't work in moments of the game in which you need to listen to conversations.

Some boss fights have been improved, including Adam Smasher, who will be much more challenging and use the Sandevistan implant to chase the player around.

Car races will become replayable. Following the dedicated quest, you will be contacted by the organizer who will let you play all four car races as many times as you want and even earn discounts for the Autofixer website.

New vehicles have been added including the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet (930) and 5 new motorcycles. Players will now be able to throw knives from motorcycles and there are new options for leaning, doing wheelies, driving circles inside pipes, and even performing flips.

New car chases have been added as events that can be triggered by choices made during quests. Gigs that have you steal cars will also include car chases. On top of that, the highway between Japan Town and Wellsprings has been redone and fully opened for use, with traffic and all.

Last, but not least, an accessibility tab has been added to the menu, including all the accessibility options that are already implemented in the game.

More have been added including larger fonts, the ability to remove the hacking minigame limit, larger HUD elements, the ability to remove HUD visual effects and lens distortion and to reduce decorative elements, an option to toggle cycling to arm cyberwar while cycling weapons, and options to disable the adaptive triggers on DualSense controllers and to tweak their intensity.

The expansion Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has recently been released and you can read our review, which awarded it with a 9.0 out of 10. We recently learned that it has sold over 4.3 million copies.
