Halloween was just a few days ago, which means various companies have already pivoted to the Christmas season. Among those companies are tabletop giant Games Workshop with the return of Da Red Gobbo unit to the latest edition of Warhammer 40k.

The Warhammer 40k Da Red Gobbo announcement

In an official Warhammer-Community post, Games Workshop explains the return of Da Red Gobbo unit. This yuletide gretchin unit has popped up in prior editions of the grimdark sci-fi world before. But this will be the unit's debut for the game's tenth edition.

Is anyone dreaming of a fiery Christmas?

That holiday theming is still very present in Da Red Gobbo's new miniature. In addition to sporting a red and white coat and hat, the unit is perched on top of a brick chimney, holding a stick of dynamite painted up like a candy cane.

There's even an open bag of presents visible next to the chimney. While the presents are clearly different kinds of explosives, a set of paint and brushes can be seen. A cheeky gift suggestion for the tabletop miniatures fan in your life.

Da Red Gobbo has a brand new datasheet which can be downloaded for free. The unit is for the Ork army (obviously) and is considered an Epic Hero unit with a cost of 40 points.

Notable abilities include its Explosive Presents aura, which adds 1 to the result of all dice rolled for mortal wounds when using the Grenade Stratagem, and Da Revolushun, which can remove the Battle-shock condition from a friendly gretchin unit in range.

In keeping with the holiday spirit, Games Workshop has also started a contest featuring Da Red Gobbo. By signing up for their newsletter, you can participate in solving a mystery: the identity of the Squig Burglar.

Winners can receive toys, digital copies of different Warhammer games, and even Combat Patrol and Vanguard Boxes.
