Earlier this year Darrington Press announced Candela Obscura, an upcoming eldritch horror TTRPG game developed in-house using their Illuminated Worlds system. When Candela Obscura was announced, along with a quickstart guide and series to show players how this narrative TTRPG plays they also announced that it would be releasing this year. Today Darringtop Press has announced that the Candela Obscura Core Rulebook will be available to purchase starting on November 14th.
Candela Obscura Core Rulebook Release Date
The Candela Obscura Core Rulebook is going to be available to purchase at Darrington Press Guild Stores as well as all Critical Role regional shops on November 14th. You'll be able to purchase the standard version for $39.99 and the Limited Edition version for $59.99. The Limited Edition version will have a faux leather exclusive cover, debossed and filled with metallic ink. The contents of the books will be the same.
With the Candela Obscura Core Rulebook you'll have everything you need to run your own Candela Obscura investigation. The book will be 204 pages long and contain information for the GM running the game including details about Newfaire and the surrounding areas, guides for preparing and game mastering Candela Obscura, and 4 full example assignments and 30 example assignments.
Whether you want to create an assignment from scratch, with little prep, or no prep at all the Core Rulebook will have you covered.
Detailed information on each of the different playable Roles of Candela Obscure will also be provided as well as information on how to level up your Circle between investigations. This will be the first time we're getting to see the full character sheets and upgrade paths that players will be able to create their characters with.
