Our Disney Dreamlight Valley Building Guide will tell you how Building works and what it costs to build and upgrade the important structures in the game!
Disney Dreamlight Valley Building Basics
Disney Dreamlight Valley Building uses a simple grid-based system that you're likely familiar with. Many Buildings have a cost, but you can also move around existing Buildings -- even the homes of other Villagers!
Bear in mind that not everything can be placed everywhere. Ariel's home, for example, must be placed on water. Goofy's Stalls and the Wishing Wells cannot leave the Zones/Villages they spawned in. Other Buildings may have special requirements that prevent them from truly being placed everywhere.
There's one other important thing to note: Trees are required to spawn Wood. I made the mistake of removing many of my trees and found myself awfully short of Wood. Make sure to keep some trees around -- you'll need it for Crafting!
How to Build in Disney Dreamlight Valley Building Mode
You can build in Disney Dreamlight Valley by opening your inventory and selecting "Furniture." Bear in mind that some items will have to be purchased from Scrooge McDuck, Crafted by you, or earned through Friendship.
Disney Dreamlight Valley House Upgrades
After you've fixed your house, you'll be able to upgrade it from the outside and the inside to gain some neat benefits.
Exterior House Upgrades (Scrooge McDuck Sign)
These upgrades are activated from the orange Scrooge McDuck sign outside and have the following effects:
Upgrade 1 (1,500 Star Coins)
- Repairs house exterior
- Adds 8 spaces of Storage

- Adds the option for a second floor

Upgrade 3 (78,000 Star Coins)

Interior House Upgrades (Elevator)
These upgrades take place in the elevator that Scrooge places inside of your home. These give you more interior space -- a lot more space.
Upgrade 1 (1,000 Star Coins)
- Expands Main Room to 8 x 8
Upgrade 2 (2,000 Star Coins)
- Expands Main Room to 10 x 10

- Bottom Right
Upgrades 3, 4, and 5 (1,000-6,000 Star Coins)

- 6 x 6 - 1,000 Star Coins
- 8 x 8 - 2,000 Star Coins
- 10 x 10 - 3,000 Star Coins
- Every room size can be purchased and you can freely change between them. Changing to a smaller size may place any Furniture in the room into your inventory.
- All three rooms must be purchased to progress further.
Upgrade 6 (3,000 Star Coins)
- Adds a second floor and a 6x6 main room.
Upgrade 7 and beyond
- You can add more floors (and each floor can have multiple rooms). The room costs stay the same, but each subsequent floor costs an increasing amount of money.
