Unlocking characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley is vital to progression and success. Moana is one of the characters you will be able to bring back to the Valley, and she comes with quite a few perks, such as automated fishing, that make life in the Valley much easier. In this Disney Dreamlight Valley Moana Guide, we will discuss how to unlock Moana, what she brings to the village, how she can benefit your progression, and a few little bonuses with Moana of Motunui.
How to Unlock Moana in Disney Dreamlight Valley
As with all of the other characters in the game, you will first need to unlock the Dream Castle in order to unlock Moana. Her door is located in the dead center on the first floor, to the left of Remy's door. Once you step through her door, you will be teleported to her island, where she and Maui reside. Moana will have quite a few quests for you to complete before she agrees to come back to your village. First off, she will ask you to collect some planks and silk in order for her to repair her boat. Once that is complete, she will ask you to go speak with Maui, as you will need his pickaxe enchant to break the rocks that have formed behind Moana's boat, trapping her on the island.
Maui will only agree to help you after you answer some questions about him, where he wants to know exactly how much you know about the "Greatest Demi-God to ever exist". After he enchants your pickaxe, you will need to remove the teal rocks that are blocking Moana's boat, and then she will have even more quests for you to complete. These include boarding the boat with her, exploring new areas within the ocean using a map, and finding a lantern to break through the mist to find a perfect fishing location. Once you complete that quest line, you will go back to the Valley, build Moana's hut, and she will instantly teleport to your village via the Well in the middle of the Plaza.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Moana Friendship Level Unlocks
Each character comes with a set of bonus unlocks that you can obtain by growing your friendship level with each of them. All of them offer different things, so let's discuss each bonus unlock Moana has to offer:
- Friendship Level 1: Unlocks the quest to fix the Canoe on Dazzle Beach
- Friendship Level 2: Unlocks a T-shirt
- Friendship Level 3: Unlocks an Outfit Overlay
- Friendship Level 4: Unlocks 500 Star Coins
- Friendship Level 5: Unlocks a Decoration
- Friendship Level 6: Unlocks an Outift Overlay
- Friendship Level 7: Unlocks 1,000 Star Coins
- Friendship Level 8: Unlocks a Shell Decoration
- Friendship Level 9: Unlocks an Outfit Overlay
- Friendship Level 10: Unlocks Moana's Dress
- in order to unlock tier 10, you must also complete all of Moana's friendship quests.
How to repair the Canoe on Dazzle Beach
Once Moana has moved into the village and reached at least Friendship level 6, you will be able to get a quest from her called "Fixing the Boat." This quest will allow you to completely automate fishing in the game, which means more ingredients and more Star Coin in your pocket if need be. For the first part of this quest you will need to gather the following materials:
- 50 Softwood
- 70 Fiber
- 3 Pink Hydrangea
Once you have all of the necessary materials, you will need to craft three different items in order to make the Canoe functional once again. This includes wooden baskets, wooden crates and rope. After you have everything crafted and ready to go, you will need to meet Moana back over on Dazzle Beach by the Canoe and turn in the quest. She will then unlock the Canoe, where you can wait for fish to be brought in every 30 minutes. The canoe can also be upgraded several times to be able to hold even more fish, so if you forget to check after 30 minutes, there will be even more to collect. Each fishing voyage for 1 fish will take 30 minutes of real-life time, so keep that in mind as you do other quests and gathering.
