About Don Parsons
A longtime lover of speculative fiction, in almost all its forms, Don joined TechRaptor in 2014 on a whim sending in an application as he was looking for somewhere to write. His application accepted, he quickly found his spot in the newsroom, where he began writing up stories and following all sorts of leads in gaming and technology, eventually becoming the News Editor where he led the news team, before taking a step back to focus on other types of writing more. He's also an experienced roleplayer and card player with a background in Magic: the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, and various other tabletop RPGs and is more than willing to talk your ear or eyes off about them or classic computer RPGs.
Beyond TechRaptor Don has worked in the legal profession with Paralegals, who in Ontario (where he lives) can practice in Small Claims, Traffic, and similar areas, as a secretary and doing some ghostwriting. In Magic: The Gathering he wrote occasionally for the now-defunct online site Magic-League as he attempted to qualify for the Pro Tour, often with decks of his own creation, although he never quite managed to make it (yet). His online pseudonym, Coboney, comes from his first Dungeons and Dragons character, a Dwarf Fighter who partook in various adventures in 2nd Edition DnD, although Don has kept up with various editions since, and often enjoys creating settings for roleplaying.
