Today, during the celebrations of the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hours 2024 in Los Angeles, Bandai Namco revealed a new trailer of the upcoming Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero.
The game, which was announced a little less than a year ago as a new Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi (the original Japanese title od the series was Dragon Ball Z: Sparking!), will be the latest dedicated to the ultra-popular Dragon Ball franchise by Akira Toriyama
The trailer focuses exclusively on Goku and on Vegeta, and specifically in their rivalry which is at the center of many stories in anime and manga.
Of course, this doesn't mean that Goku and Vegeta will be the only playable heroes included in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. We already know that there will be many more, albeit we don't know exactly how many.
Unfortunately, the reveal included no release date, so we don't yet know when the game is coming. We do know that the platforms are PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S as Bandai Namco is finally starting to leave the old generation behind. You can also already pre-order a physical copy on Amazon.
While the video focuses a lot on cinematic and banter between Goku and Vegeta, it still showcases glimpses of what appears to be gameplay, which is never a bad thing.
The gameplay likely won't surprise too many, as it appears to be the 3D action fighting that has been a staple of the series for a long time, including the Dragon Ball Xenoverse sub-franchise.
You can watch the trailer below, enjoy the explosive cinematic action, and see if it makes up for the lack of a release date.
Incidentally, during the same event, Bandai Namco also announced the newest DLC for its previous Dragon Ball game, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, titled Goku's Next Journey and ocusing on the battle against the reincarnation of a certain pink antagonist.
