SCS Software has announced a new Euro Truck Simulator 2 DLC expansion pack, and it's taking you all the way to Scandinavia.
Previous expansions have incorporated the landscapes of locations like the Iberian peninsula, a scaled-down version of France, and more, but this one's all about northern Europe.
According to a new announcement post on Steam, Nordic Horizons will bring "dozens of cities, scenic towns, and beautiful landscapes" to Euro Truck Simulator 2, and it'll allow you to enjoy "an expansive and diverse gameplay experience".
SCS Software is promising landscapes spanning from the fjords of Norway all the way to the Arctic Ocean, with "breathtaking bridges" and "underwater tunnels" linking the different destinations of your journey.
You'll get the chance to spot reindeer as you drive (although you'd better not take your eyes off the road), and fishing villages will provide opportunities to stop and drink in the beauty of Scandinavia.
Sweden's main E4 road will be part of Nordic Horizons, as will Finland's Lapland and the "barren hills of the Scandinavian mountains".
These landscapes might sound rough, but SCS Software says that Euro Truck Simulator 2's Nordic Horizons DLC will emphasize smooth roads for a "zen-like driving experience".
This is going to be a pretty big DLC package, too; SCS Software says you can expect "countless kilometers of roads", as well as iconic trucking brands like Scania and Volvo.
Unfortunately, the Nordic Horizons DLC could be a ways off. SCS says it might be "about two years" before the DLC is released; after all, it takes time to create realistic representations of Scandinavia.
In the meantime, you can pick up Euro Truck Simulator 2 right now on PC via Steam, where a raft of DLC is also available for the game. Stay tuned for more info on this.
