Dimension 20, the anthology TTRPG series part of Dropout.tv, has just dropped their latest season trailer about a family of Stoats who have to face the world's dangers. Dimension 20: Burrow's End brings Aabria Iyengar back behind the GM screen in this new Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition adventure.
What is Dimension 20: Burrow's End?
Burrow's End tells the story of a family of Stoats. This three-generation family tree consists of the matriarch Ava and her two daughters Tula and Viola. Also joining the family are Tula's children Joysohn and Lila, as well as Viola's husband Thorn Vale.
In this story, the family of Stupendous Stoats is living a happy life in the Blue Forest. The titular Blue, of the Blue Forest, refers to a life force that seems to flow through the forest. While it might be the water that feeds the forest it's never something that simple in Dimension 20.
"We're all the Blue, the Blue's in all of us" - Tula (Brennan Lee Mulligan)
The trailer begins to paint a darker narrative of what these Stoats will be facing. Aabria narrates the flow in seasons, not just bringing the usual change but also a sense of dread. Whatever is affecting the Blue Forest is going to force the Stoat family to have to seek out a new home.
The Stouts will fight danger "in many forms be they beast, bog or betrayal." Between emotional player reactions, we're treated to flashes of full-sized bears, crooked stouts, and even magical stouts.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this might not have a happy ending…
