Today Square Enix has a couple of interesting reveals as we get closer to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
First of al, we get a new trailer focusing mostly on the story that will unfold in the game, and the drama certainly seems to have been kicked up a notch, especially due to Sephiroth's threat.
we also get to see several of the characters that we'll play as and meet in the game, including Yuffie Kisaragi, who got new artwork today, and she's certainly looking good.
More artwork also showcases Cait Sigh and Moogle at the Gold Saurcer,
Despite the focus on the story, the new trailer isn't just about cinematics, but we get to see some battle gameplay as well, which never hurts.
Incidentally, we shouldn't forget that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi teased at the end of 2023 that he hopes that many fans will be able to witness Aerith's fate.
One thing is for sure, a whole lot is at stake with this game, including many fans' memories of the original, story. Just how much is Rebirth going yo diverge? Time will tell.
You can watch the trailer below, and if you'd rather have the Japanese voices, that version is on the official YouTube channel.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released for PS5 on February 29, 2024 (You can already pre-order a physical copy on Amazon if you want to go that way).
At the moment, we don't clearly know just how long the game will take to land on other platforms. PC is at least likely, considering its predecessor. Interestingly, the official exclusivity window only lasts three months after release.
