Orichalcum is the key ingredient in Final Fantasy XVI to make the best equipment available to you. With this you're able to craft the Ouroboros set of Belts and Vambraces, and more importantly, you can craft the Gotterdammerung sword that has a whopping 375 Attack. In this Final Fantasy XVI All Orichalcum Locations Guide we'll show you how to obtain all six available pieces to craft the best equipment in the game.

Where to obtain Orichalcum in Final Fantasy XVI

  1. Complete the Duty Undying II Side Quest

This is the final step in the questline related to The Undying. These quest chains are always started in Tabor in the building behind where you spawn. Be sure that you complete all quests related to The Undying faction including:

  • Duty Undying
  • Where There's a Will
  • Duty Undying II

  1. Complete the Under New Management II Side Quest

This is the final step in the questline related to Isabella in Northreach. These quest chains are always started in Northreach. Be sure you complete all of Isabella's quests as they appear including:

  • Under New Management
  • Under New Management II

While one of the hardest fights in the game it's well worth it to obtain the Gotterdammerung before the end of the game
  1. Defeat the S-Rank Hunt The Masterless Marauder

This hunt is to take down a Lv. 47 Behemoth King. This hunt doesn't have a set location that the game gives you, instead, you're told it can be found in ??? and there is a text hint on the Hunt poster that can be found on the Hunt Board.

In order to create the Gotterdammerung and the Orouboris armor pieces you'll only need to obtain five of the above six pieces of Orichalcum but each of the above is also tied to other Trophies. These might be the Hunter, Hunted Trophy for completing all Hunts, or For the Horde Trophy and the And They Opened Up My Mind! Trophy for obtaining all Curiosities and signboards respectively.
