Final Fantasy XVI The Tricephalic Terror Hunt Location

The Tricephalic Terror is a S-Rank Hunt that you obtain after you visit the infirmary as part of the "Across the Narrow" Main Scenario. Instead of giving you a location to visit the S-Rank Hunts in Final Fantasy XVI instead only give you a text hint of where the Hunt might have been seen. In this guide we'll show you when the Tricephalic Terror Hunt will appear, what the hint is, and where to find him in the world.

When do you receive The Tricephalic Terror Hunt?

You will first have the poster for the Tricephalic Terror appear on the Hunt Board after visiting the infirmary as part of the "Across the Narrow" Main Scenario. When you check the posting on the Hunt Board you'll receive the following hint:

A caravan of traders traversing the Velkroy told me of a colossal beast they had encountered on their journey. To hear them tell it, it had the aspect of a dragon, a lion, and a scorpion all at once. I contested that it might be naught but a mirage - a phantasm brought about by the desert hear - but the sweat which rand down their foreheads was cold, and the fear in their eyes, real.

The key clues to take away from this hint are that the hunt can be found in the Velkroy desert, that it's a Chimera, and that it's relatively close to the trade path through the Velkroy to Dalimil Inn

The Tricephalic Terror location

The closest waypoint to reach The Tricephalic Terror is the Velkroy Desert or The Dalimil Inn waypoints. You'll be aiming to reach the West portion of the Velkroy Desert at around the middle point between North and South. It's going to be just underneath the crack in the map you see south of the Velkroy Desert waypoint. As the desert is quite flat you'll be able to spot the Gorgimera from a good distance away to make any last minute preparations.

The Gorgimera is a Lv. 45 hunt but chances are by the time you reach this hunt in the story you'll have already reached around Level 42-45 yourself so it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

For defeating the Gorgimera and completing The Tricephalic Terror S-Rank Hunt you'll earn the following rewards:

• 120 AP
• 20000 Gil
• 50 Renown
• 1x Orichalcum

Orichalcum is an important material as it's needed to craft the most powerful equipment in the game, the Gotterdammerung sword and the Ouroborus Belt and Vambraces.
