HoYoverse has announced the release date for Genshin Impact Version 4.4, and the gacha RPG's first update of the year will have plenty of content to keep you busy.
After Version 4.3 took you to the Fontinalia Film Festival and slowed down the pace of the adventure a little, Version 4.4, which arrives on January 31st, seems like it's back to business as usual.
You'll be exploring a brand new map in the form of Chenyu Vale, a "vast mist-shrouded area" in the northwest of Liyue that will connect back to Fontaine via the bustling Yilong Wharf.
As you explore Chenyu Vale, you'll get the ability to transform into a carp in order to explore previously unreachable areas, and you'll also get to take on a new boss enemy in the form of the legendary Solitary Suanni beast.
Of course, it wouldn't be a Genshin Impact update without a new character or two, and that's exactly what you're getting in Version 4.4.
The first new character is five-star Anemo catalyst user Xianyun, who's the human form of the Cloud Retainer. She's got some devastating attacks, but she can also heal and buff her team.
Your second new character is four-star Pyro claymore-wielder Gaming, a dancer who incorporates Wushou dancing into his fighting style.
You'll also get reruns of Xiao, Yae Miko, and Nahida during this version's cycle, so make sure to keep an eye out for them if you want them for your team.
Version 4.4 also marks the return of the Lantern Festival, where you'll find plenty of minigames to keep you occupied, as well as a Xingqiu outfit, which can be yours completely free of charge.
