Take-Two Interactive Software announced its financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year, related to the period between April 2023 and June 2023, alongside an update on sales for Grand Theft Auto VRed Dead Redemption 2, and more.

Via the press release, the publisher shared that it has achieved $1.44 billion in net bookings during the quarter, down 4% year-on-year.

The company also mentioned that the said sales were achieved thanks to the "outperformance of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online, and Red Dead Redemption 2."

While Grand Theft Auto VI is finally about to be revealed, its predecessor continues to sell like hotcakes.

As usual, the press release also included the traditional comment from CEO Strauss Zelnick, which boasted the "strong" results for the quarter and mentioned the increase of the full-year forecast.

He also mentioned that the company is getting closer to releasing the "groundbreaking titles" that the audience has been anticipating, obviously hinting to Grand Theft Auto VI.

Our strong second quarter results, including Net Bookings of $1.4 billion, underscore the strength of our portfolio of iconic, industry-leading intellectual properties. During the period, our teams released new offerings, delivered engaging post-launch content, and advanced further the development of our eagerly-anticipated pipeline.

While we expect continued macroeconomic uncertainty, we believe that we are well positioned for the holiday season and are reiterating our fiscal 2024 Net Bookings guidance of $5.45 to $5.55 billion

Looking ahead, I am optimistic about our Company’s multi-year growth trajectory and our ability to deliver long-term value for our shareholders. Our development pipeline is robust and diverse, and we are getting closer to delivering the groundbreaking titles that our audiences throughout the world have been anticipating. With an unwavering commitment to being the most creative, the most innovative, and the most efficient entertainment company, I have great confidence that our offerings will surpass our players’ expectations and set new standards of creative excellence in our industry.

As usual, we get an update about sales for Take-Two's most successful games, Grand Theft Auto V has shipped "approximately 190 million units" (with the grand total for the franchise to over 410 million units cumulatively) and Red Ded Redemption 2 shipped over ver 57 million units as of September 2023 (81 million units cumulatively for the whole franchise).

If you'd like to add to these numbers, you can purchase Grand Theft Auto V or Red Dead Redemption 2 on Amazon, if you so wish.

This is another significant increase since the latest numbers shared in August, which were respectively at over 185 million and over 55 million units.

Just earlier today, we learned that the publisher finally plans to reveal Grand Theft Auto VI next month with a new trailer.

We also learn that Borderlands 3 has shipped over 18 million units, while NBA 2K24 has shipped over 4.5 million units.

As usual, Take-Two published a snapshot of its pipeline of games in development expected to be released by March 2026. The numbers have not changed from the version shared last quarter besides the fact that some of the games have been revealed.

It's worth mentioning that not all of these games are likely to actually see a release, and some may be delayed or canceled, while more may be added as time progresses.
