THQ Nordic and Haemimont Games have revealed the Jagged Alliance 3 release date. The upcoming tactical strategy RPG is launching for PC via Steam on July 14th and will serve as the first numbered Jagged Alliance game since 1999's Jagged Alliance 2.
To accompany the release date announcement, THQ has also unveiled a new features trailer for Jagged Alliance 3, going in-depth for some of the mechanics and characters you'll encounter in this irreverent tactical RPG. If you're a fan of the series, you'll be pleased to know its characteristic over-the-top style appears to be intact. Take a look at the new Jagged Alliance 3 features trailer and see what awaits you here.
In the trailer, THQ says there's "a lot" that makes Jagged Alliance 3 a worthy successor to the series. For a start, original franchise creator Ian Currie is on board to work on this new game, and, as THQ colorfully puts it, to "keep us from f***ing up" (that's their bleep, not mine). The trailer's voiceover describes Jagged Alliance 3 as "not just a puzzle, but a simulation".
You'll need to factor in various things like mercenary personalities, weather, lighting conditions, and the battlefield if you want to succeed. There are also 40 mercenaries to choose from, all of whom are fully-voiced and have their own backstories (and phobias!). Their personalities and characteristics will affect your mission, as well as how well they work with one another.
There's plenty to look forward to in Jagged Alliance 3, especially if you're already a fan of the series. The game launches for PC via Steam on July 14th. If you already know you'll be picking this one up, be sure to take a look at the Tactical Edition, which comes with a whole host of extras that might interest you if you're planning your own expedition into a war-torn jungle.
