Calming mecha farming sim Lightyear Frontier finally has an Early Access release date, and it's pretty much just around the corner.
After the release date was delayed indefinitely last year, Frame Break and Amplifier Studio have now revealed that Lightyear Frontier will launch into Early Access on March 19th.
The game will launch simultaneously across PC and Xbox Series X|S, and what's more, it'll be available via Xbox Game Pass on day one as well, so if you're a subscriber, you won't even have to pay anything extra to check it out.
There's more good news if you've been waiting to get your hands on Lightyear Frontier as well: a demo is available on Steam right now, so make sure to go download it if you want to see what all the fuss is about.
With regards to Lightyear Frontier's Early Access plans, Frame Break and Amplifier Studio say the plan is to spend "about a year and a half" fine-tuning the game before it's ready for full release.
The full version will feature additional areas, resources, and hazards, and it'll also feature extra gameplay mechanics like new mech modules and upgrade tiers.
Lightyear Frontier's story will also be expanded over the course of the Early Access period, with new acts being added as time goes on.
If you're unfamiliar with Lightyear Frontier, it's a calming interplanetary farming sim in which you (and, optionally, your friends) jump into a mech and set sail for the furthest reaches of the galaxy.
There, you'll build a new home for yourself, farming crops and dealing with environmental hazards. The game is combat-free, and it's also intended to be "low-stress", so you won't need to manage factors like hunger or thirst.
