This The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria Weapons Tier guide will teach you how to create and find new weapons, and what different weapons are available at the different weapon tiers.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria Weapons Tier Guide

When you first start out in Return to Moria, you can craft a simple axe-based weapon from your crafting menu.

It'll keep you alive in the early game, but you need to upgrade this thing quickly to really survive Moria.

Craft a makeshift axe with 3 Metal Fragments, 4 Wood Scraps, and 2 Cloth Scraps. You can equip the weapon by selecting it in your hotbar.

To create anything more impressive, you’re going to need some equipment.

How to Craft Weapons

You’ll need at least two structures in place to be able to create something more impressive than a rock on a stick.

You'll get used to staring at this furnace day-in, day-out. It's a dwarf's life.

Build a Furnace from 20 Stone. You’ll need to get your hands on some coal and some Iron Ore to actually get any use out of the stuff.

You can also find these things lying around the world if you just want to repair one instead of starting from scratch, though they cost similar amounts of resources.

Build a Forge from 5 Iron Ingots that you got from the Furnace. This is the device that will actually let you churn out some serious aggressive hardware, though you’ll probably only have an Iron Sword when you start out.

How to Unlock More Recipes

If you want something more interesting to craft in your Forge, you’ll need to explore the dark of Moria.

These statues might seem inconsequential at first, but they're a great way to unlock more stuff to make in the game.

A good source of recipes in the early game is the various broken statues you’ll find all over the place. These can be put together with some stone and a hammer.

Finding these statues is a challenge, but the reward is often worth it

Some recipes for powerful weapons and armor can only be found by completing scavenger quests in each area of the game, and some are found by completing the Muznakan altars which are missing statues.

Best Weapons

Even this Iron War Axe could be the best weapon for you, depending on your circumstances.

The best weapon in Return to Moria is heavily dependent on your situation, but generally, the highest-tier weapon you can create is your best option. Beyond that, pay attention to what type of damage it does, as certain damage types do critical damage (yellow numbers) to certain enemies.

For example, against the first boss Bolgakh, piercing and slashing damage will only do minor (grey) damage, but bludgeoning does critical damage.

Weapon Tiers

Here’s a list of all the different weapons that you can get at each tier, as well as the relative damage stats and other important information. Keep checking back as we’ll continue to add to these lists as we discover more stuff.

Each new area in the game is likely to require you to move up a Tier in terms of weapons, tools, and armor, either to do decent damage to the enemies in the area or just to get you into the area in the first place.

You also need to pay attention to the type of damage, as some enemies will take critical (yellow numbers) damage from a weapon type they're weak against (Bludgeoning/Slashing/Piercing.)
