Today Insomniac Games announced the release date of the next major update for its popular open-world action adventure game Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
The update, which was initially supposed to released in 2023 and then was delayed to early 2024, will hit the PlayStation Network in exactly one month, on March 7, 2024.
Today's announcement made on the developer's official X (formerly Twitter) account, confirms that the update will include the New Game+ feature, new suits, and more.
Assuming that the content mentioned in the previous announcement is still valid, we should also get audio descriptions, the ability to change the time of day and tendril colors, and to replay missions. That being said, these features weren't mentioned in today's release date announcement.
Insomniac adds that a complete list of features will be shared closer to the update's release.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is currently out for PS5 and it has been very successful. We recently learned that it has sold over 5 million copies worldwide as of October 30, 2023, with Sony describing it as a "big hit." The company will announce its financial release next week, and it's likely that we'll hear an update on shipments then.
If you want to get ready for the update you can purchase a copy of the game on Amazon, and if you'd like to hear what we think about Peter Parker and Miles Morales' latest adventure, you can read our positive review, which awarded the game with a 9.5 out of 10.
It's definitely a good time for fans of Marvel and video games Games. Insomniac Games is currently developing a Wolverine game set in the same Earth-1048 Universe as the Marvel's Spider-Man series. On the other hand, Arkane Lyon is developing Marvel's Blade, albeit we don't have official release dates or even windows for either game.
