Today Mojang revealed a new kind of block that will soon be introduced in the test versions of the massively popular sandbox game Minecraft and will ultimately arrive in the upcoming major update.
The new block is the Vault, and it solves a pretty big problem in multiplayer, in the form of chests that have already been looted by other players.
The Vault works differently and provides rewards to everyone, without ever running out of goodies.
The vault is opened with the Trail key, which can be found in the new Trial Chambers coming with the 1.21 update dubbed "Trials and Tales."
Once a player unlocks the Vault block, it will spit out a bunch of rewards. It will then do the same every time it's unlocked with a Trial key, but only once per player, ensuring that every player gets something out of the chambers.
You can see how it works in the video below and you don't need to wait for 1.21 to see it in action in the game, as it'll be included soon in Beta and Snapshot Preview for both versions of Minecraft.
Another piece of news is, as you can see in the image above, a small but relevant redesign of the Armadillo mob, which changes the positioning of the eyes, which apparently had caused some strife within the community.
Minecraft is currently available on basically every semi-current platform, and I honestly have lost count of the consoles it runs on. We also know that this massively popular and long-running game has sold over 300 million copies as of October.
At the moment, we don't yet know when update 1.21 will be released. Usually, the major updates tend to come out around the middle of the year, and the release date is announced just a few weeks before the patch actually launches.
