Colossal Order has released a brand new Cities: Skylines 2 patch, and while there's nothing earth-shattering in this one, there are plenty of hotfixes that could correct the specific issue you've been having.
As revealed in this week's Word of the Week column, the catchily-named Patch 1.0.19f1 will be the game's final "stand-alone" bug-fixing patch before updates start arriving alongside more major features.
In this case, several crash situations have been fixed, including certain modifications to roads causing crashes, so if you've been experiencing some annoying desktop bailouts, this Cities: Skylines 2 update could be for you.
Tons of other miscellaneous fixes have been included in this patch as well. They include incorrect levelling up flags for warehouses, as well as "more fixes for forgotten dogs". Aww.
Maintenance vehicles should no longer get stuck, and when citizens are searching for parking spaces, they should have an easier time of doing so. If only we could implement that fix for real life.
Other behind-the-scenes quality-of-life improvements have been made as well, like more translations for missing text and a "more user-friendly message when account linking functions fail due to a network error".
A number of performance and graphical improvements have been added as part of Cities: Skylines 2 Patch 1.0.19f1 as well.
They include "faster and more stable simulation speed in very large cities", so if you've noticed your city grinding to a halt when the size starts increasing, this might be the fix you've been waiting for.

Cities: Skylines 2 is available right now on PC via both Steam and the Microsoft Store. It's also included with PC Game Pass, and it's heading to consoles sometime in spring.
