Today HoYoverse revealed a new trailer of its super-popular RPG Honkai: Star Rail, focusing on the content and story that will come with version 2.0.
Specifically, we get to see the new planet Penacony, also named "the Planet of Festivities," which will serve as the game's next setting and the Astral Express' third stop.
On top of that, the lion's share of the spotlight is taken by Black Swan, the five-star Wind character following the path of Nihility who will come with the update.
Despite the focus on Black Swan, we also see several characters who will appear in the story, including Acheron, Aventurine, Gallagher, and more.
The card that goes in flames at the end of the trailer portrays the likely villain of this chapter, Duke Inferno, herald of the path of Destruction and leader of the Ever-Flaming Mansion of the Annihilation Gang, one of the factions that will compete for supremacy on Penacony.
You can watch the trailer below and see if Black Swan intrigues you. It'll certainly be interesting to see which role she'll play in the story.
Incidentally, she's voiced in English by Arryn Zech (whom you can hear below) and in Japanese by Hitomi Nabatame, whom you may know as Cryska Barchenowa in Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse, Amy in the SoulCalibur series, Millie Chliette in Star Ocean, and more.
You can hear Nabatame-san in the Japanese trailer available on the official YouTube channel.
If you'd like to see more, we also have another trailer featuring Penacony itself, in a cute retro cartoon "tourist ad" fashion
We already know that version 2.0 will release on February 6, 2024, and it'll include Black Swan's gacha from the get-go.
Honkai: Star Rail is available on PC, PS5, iOS, and Android. The game is free to play, so you can partake without spending a dime. That being said, it's worth mentioning that there are plenty of Microtransactions for those who want to squeeze it for everything it's worth.
Speaking of updates to HoYoverse's games' we also heard just yesterday that the upcoming action RPG Zenless Zone Zero is officially in development for PS5, for those of you who prefer playing on a console.
