Pocketpair has taken to social media to address Palworld server connection issues, which have sprung up due to the huge number of players wanting to check the game out on day one.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Pocketpair says it's "blown away" by the response to the game, but that the "large amount of concurrent players" has resulted in server problems.
The developer says the servers are "unstable" and that this is the reason players may be experiencing issues with connecting to Palworld servers.
Pocketpair says it's working to resolve this issue as soon as possible, but in the meantime, there are a couple of things you can try.
According to the studio, some Palworld players have managed to connect after two or three attempts, so if you can't get in on your first try, keep trying to connect and you may just get through.
If that fails, try launching the game, then waiting a few minutes before attempting to connect to a server. Naturally, these aren't permanent fixes, but they might mean you can enjoy Palworld while Pocketpair works on something more long-lasting.
If you're unfamiliar with Palworld, it's a creature-collecting open-world survival RPG (whew, that's a whole lot of genres) that launched in Early Access today.
The game is superficially similar to Pokemon; many of the designs resemble Nintendo's franchise, but that's arguably where the similarities end.
Palworld is a much darker take on the Pokemon formula, with many Pals wielding guns and working brutal hours in factory environments in the game's many trailers leading up to release.
What's more, the game places more of an emphasis on survival and base-building than it does on straightforward creature combat, although that's certainly a feature of Palworld as well.
You can grab Palworld right now on PC via Steam Early Access. If you want to know what all the fuss is about, or if you've been lucky enough to get into the game and you're currently wondering where to begin, make sure to take a look at our Palworld guides.
