In this Valheim Meadows biome guide, we will explain each of the creatures, places worth visiting, plants to pick, and even enemies to look out for in the Meadows area.
There is so much to explore in Valheim, all of which can be discovered within each biome in-game. With a vast amount of resources, tools, enemies, creatures, and more, it can become difficult to get your bearings.
Where is the Valheim Meadows Biome?
The Valheim Meadow is the first place you set your feet down when you land from the skies above. The Meadow is the first biome you come into contact with, and where you will learn the ropes as to how the game works. With the help of a giant crow, you will learn how to forage, hunt, kill enemies, and more.
Valheim Meadows Biome Creatures
Deer
There are animals that just run wild in the meadow, one of which is Deer. Though they are docile in nature and will not attack you, it is best to strike them down in order to gain materials and resources such as Deer Meat, Deer Trophies, and Deer Hide to use for crafting items and summoning the boss of the Meadows.

Valheim Meadows Biome Guide | List of Enemies
Here are the enemies you will come across during your travels in the Meadow Biome in Valheim:
Boar
Boars are forest creatures with long tusks that attack by headbutting when you come into melee range and grunting loudly. Boars can also be tamed later on in the game.
Greyling
Greylings are peculiar-looking goblin-like creatures with glowing yellow eyes. They attack on sight, and use their claw-like fingers to swipe at you to attack.
Neck
Necks are little green lizard-like creatures that seem to travel in packs. Their attacks consist of biting at melee range and running away to charge back at you and bite once more. They can usually be found near water and will attack on sight.
Greydwarf
These enemies will only spawn once the boss in the Meadows has been slain. These feisty creatures will attack on sight, and look almost identical to the greylings, but are much larger and have glowing blue eyes. Though they use a similar swipe attack, they are much stronger than the greylings, so be prepared for anything. These creatures only spawn at night and will despawn as daylight comes.
Who is the Meadows Biome Boss?
The Valheim Meadows Biome Boss is Eikthyr.
Valheim Meadows Biome Locations
Here are the most notable locations of the Meadow Biome in Valheim:
Abandoned Shelter
There are several of these buildings scattered all throughout the Meadows that can be used as a temporary shelter as you first begin your journey through Valheim. These buildings are spawned in at random when the world is generated, therefore there are no exact locations for these abandoned buildings.
Structures like this are great places to warm yourself by the fire and rest for the night away from the dangers that lurk.
Buildings like this are also a great way to collect wood by breaking them down with any weapon you have available. The most strategic way to break down these buildings would be to use an axe.
Viking's Graveyards
There are several different Viking burial grounds that can be found while roaming the Meadows. These places are known to house hidden treasures that can be sold or used for crafting.
In order to find the treasure hidden below, you must use a pickaxe to dig deep under the earth, which can either uncover a treasure chest or unearth gold and other items as you dig down.
The Starting Altar
This Altar is where you will land when first entering Valheim and will become your base of operations of sorts. This is due to having to come back at several periods after defeating bosses to place their trophies onto the designated altar.
This is also the first place you will come face to face with the ever-helpful crow known as Hugin, who is one of Odin's powerful crows.
Eikthyr's Altar
When you come across this Altar for the first time, be sure to click on the glowing red stone. When you click it, a prompt will appear that gives you a hint as to what is necessary to spawn the boss.
For example, clicking on the glowing red stone for Eikthyr will prompt "Kill his kin" to appear, which means that you will need to hunt deer in order to collect two of their heads, known as Deer Trophies. These trophies are what you will need to use at the altar to spawn the boss of the Meadows called Eikthyr.
