A new World of Darkness partnership has been announced. The bleak gothpunk horror fantasy setting has continued to grow in popularity thanks to several ongoing multimedia projects. Now, with the aid of new studios, that audience will continue to grow.
The new World of Darkness partnership
According to an official press release, the latest World of Darkness partnership is between three different studios. Each of these studios will be working on official Vampire: The Masquerade projects as part of this partnership.
Those studios are Techland, the videogame studio most well known for their zombie parkour series Dying Light. Penny Arcade, the company behind the Acquisitions Incorporated actual play series. Last is Well Played Games, the studio behind Ugly Dolls.
The first of these projects is the official Vampire: The Masquerade x Dying Light 2 DLC. This pack will introduce new character skins to the game based on VtM's vampire clans. Ever wanted to dropkick zombies as a Brujah or Nosferatu? Keep an eye out for this pack.
Penny Arcade's project is helming the return of the beloved World of Darkness actual play: Seattle By Night. The AP will feature a star-studded cast of professional players. At this time it is unclear if Jason Carl will return as the Storyteller.
The last project from this World of Darkness partnership is a new mobile game from Well Played Games. Titled Vampire: The Masquerade - Clans of London, the game will have you control the coteries of vampires as they struggle for dominance in London. Whether that is achieved through violence or guile is for you to decide.
These games are but a few recent projects within World of Darkness. The core rulebook of Werewolf: The Apocalypse V5 has recently been released, bringing the children of Gaia into a new age. a VtM VR game, Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice, recently announced a release date of November 5.
On the digital tabletop scene, the Gamefound campaign for Vampire: The Masquerade - Milan Uprising recently concluded with €701,683.00 ($761,273.43) raised.
Each of these projects, including the newest Seattle By Night chronicle, will be available for attendees to experience at the Vampire: The Masquerade booth at this year's PAX West.
