This holiday season, Avatar fans have something to look forward to. Not Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Specifically, two of the original voice actors of the iconic animated martial arts fantasy series will return to the series as part of an Avatar Legends charity one-shot.
The Avatar Legends charity one-shot
According to a post by IGN, it will be partnering with Penny Dragon Games to present a unique TTRPG one-shot set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
The adventure is called Lost Odyssey: Shadows of Destiny and it will use Magpie Games' officially licensed TTRPG adaptation, Avatar Legends. The event will raise funds for the charity organization Extra Life. Said funds will be raised by selling Avatar Legends merchandise during the game's broadcast.
As for who will be attending this one-shot, there are a lot of head-turners. The session will be GM'd by martial artist/motion capture artist/actor TJ Storm (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Legends of Runeterra, Deadpool).
The players in this adventure include professional wrestlers Athena Palmer and Kaiji Tang, the English VA for Like A Dragon's Ichiban Kasuga, and Jujutsu Kaisen's Satoru Gojo.
But the biggest draw by far is two of the original voice actors from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Those actors are Michaela Jill Murphy, who brought the memorable earthbending master Toph Beifong to life, and Avatar Aang himself Zach Tyler Eisen.
The latter is especially impressive since Eisen stepped away from acting once the original show concluded back in July of 2008. After 15 years out of the spotlight, seeing Eisen return is sure to draw fans of the show into this adventure.
Lastly, this Avatar Legends charity one-shot won't just feature dice rolls and acting. Storm has collaborated with Last Airbender's showrunners as well as the Lost Odyssey and Mind's Eye Tribe Action Actor's Academy to bring the game's events to life via martial arts shadowplay choreography.
This Avatar Legends charity one-shot will go on December 22 at 10 AM PST on IGN.
