This guide will tell you how to get Water in Enshrouded, the best way to get Water, and how you can get a renewable source of Water for your base.
Having a good source of food is important in Enshrouded, but some food is more important than others. Water is needed for several crafting recipes and it's a good food item in its own right. In this guide, we'll tell you how to get Water and how you can get a renewable source of this precious liquid.
How to Get Water in Enshrouded
There are two ways to get Water in Enshrouded:
- Loot Water from abandoned villages
- Scoop Water from Wells
Best Way to Get Water
The best way to get water in the early game is to visit abandoned villages near the starting area. Both Longkeep and Rookmore have Wells that will eventually recharge with Water. You can also get smaller amounts of Water by destroying containers in these areas and looting it, though you won't get as much compared to using the Wells.
Eventually, you'll get the ability to craft and place a Well of your own. Once you can do that, that will be the best way to get Water.
How to Get Renewable Water
You can get renewable Water by rescuing some of the NPCs and working with them to craft a Well.
The Water Well is crafted at the Carpenter and requires the following:
- 20 Linen
- 100 Stone
- 1 Wooden Bucket
The Wooden Bucket needs 2 Wood Planks, 1 Metal Sheets, and 1 Charcoal, and Linen is made from Flax (which you can Farm). Essentially, you'll need to have rescued the Carpenter, Blacksmith, and Hunter NPCs at the minimum (although it's a good idea to rescue them all regardless).
You can eventually craft an Improved Water Well once you get Sandstone from the Kindlewastes biome.
Improved Water Well Recipe:
- 20 Linen
- 100 Sandstone
- 1 Wooden Bucket
- 2 Iron Bars
This Water Well will let you collect water from it much more frequently.
