Enshrouded Guard of the North Armor Guide - Pieces of the Past

Enshrouded is full of danger, and a solid set of armor and weapons is the only way to make your way through this game. In the earlier part of the game, some of the best armor is the full set of "Guard of the North" armor, and collecting it nets you the Pieces of the Past Achievement.

This set, which includes all 5 pieces of armor you can wear, offers some solid health, damage, and recovery stats as well as strong armor.

To get the Guard of the North Armor, you'll need to make your way to the Imperial City, which you do during the quest "Reach the Capital, Pikemead's Reach" - a level 15 quest required to not only get to one of the pieces of this armor, but also to a miniboss required to upgrade your Flame Level.

Where to find all 5 Pieces of Guard of the North Armor - Map

Here's a quick look at where each piece is located. Note that some pieces are underground, and we'll break down each piece further below.

You can get 4 of the 5 pieces without fighting the large miniboss found inside the castle, making the fight just a bit easier! You'll need to defeat the miniboss to get access to the Helm.

Breakdown of each piece below, and note: having Double Jump (Survivor Skill Tree) is super helpful to "cheesing" your way around!

Enshrouded Guard of the North Armor - Boots

As you approach Pikemead's Reach, you'll see the ruined city ahead of you. Head up to the front gate, and hit the altar just in case you have to respawn.

To the right, you'll find a damaged wall is the quickest way to get to this piece. Head inside, and dispatch a few enemies, and towards the tower.

On the lower level you'll find a ladder - follow it up to get these boots!

Enshrouded Guard of the North Armor - Gloves

This one is fairly quick to get to - you'll need to head towards the Shroud Root to the left of the entrance of Pikemead's Reach. To get there, head to the opposite (West) side of the ruined wall by the boots.

You'll run into a dead end with a house, to the left you can jump up into it and across from you will be a grappling hook point.

Either jump down, or grapple across to get down - either way you'll need to fight a Fell Thunderbrute, and then chop down the Shroud Root.

After doing so, you'll see the chest up the stairs near the gate, to get your hands on the Gloves.

Enshrouded Guard of the North Armor - Chest

After getting the Gloves, if you turn around and turn right from them, you'll make your way toward the center of the city. Make your way to the Flame Sanctum, and pick up the Kettle you need for your NPC quest.

Head out of the broken wall, and to the northeast. You'll encounter a gate you can't open, but there's a house you can make your way through to the right.

You can get to the area above by taking a left out of the door and mining (pickaxe) your way through the wall.

Dispatch the enemies nearby, and head into one of the two crypts we pointed out about. You'll head downward and through a hole in a wall to find the Chest in a Coffin.

Enshrouded Guard of the North Armor - Legs

From the Chest Piece, head out of the crypts and then head directly west. You'll pass a "central" area with a statue and patch of grass in front of it. Note: You'll come back this way to get to the castle and the head piece.

Keep going until you reach the Bridge with the Fell Thunderbrute - take him down and then proceed further.

In the image above, you'll see where to go, head across the bridge and drop down nearby, then dispatch any enemies.

Head through the doorway and to the right to claim the Leg Piece!

Enshrouded Guard of the North Armor - Head

Make your way back to the statue we noted above and then head north past it. This one's going to be trickier - there's a miniboss you have to take down first!

To the left of the locked gate is a grapple point, use it and head into the building to your right - all the way up to the top. You'll find a ruined courtyard nearby - drop down.

How to easily defeat the defeat the Fell Wispwynvern: Ranged is recommended, so you can easily dodge his breath attacks. That said, you can interrupt and stun it when it tilts its head up and "charges" a blast. Shooting it during this time will stun it and let you close range and go to town.

Once it's defeated, you'll get a solid ring and a key. Head past it and into the tower - you'll make your way up and eventually it will "force" you toward the tower pictured below. Jump across with the Grappling Hook and make your way to the eastern side and claim the final piece.

That's the locations of all 5 pieces of armor. It's a solid armor that should last you 5 or so levels, especially if you're playing a melee class, and you'll unlock the Pieces of the Past Achievement!
